Anglo-Saxons

Indigo Class had a brilliant day travelling back in time with Woodmatters (https://www.woodmatters.org.uk/) to the Anglo-Saxon period. We spent all day outside to explore aspects of Anglo-Saxon life. We learned how the writing and recording of history changed during this time and carved quills out of feathers and made ink to write Anglo-Saxon runes. We smelted metal and made casts to create coins and discussed what we can learn from coins made at the time. The day ended with Indigo Class taking on the role of Anglo-Saxon warriors and developing their understanding of weapons and tactics from the period.
