Bee Day in Yellow Class
On World Bee Day we had a brilliant time! Mr MacKinnon came in and showed us a bee hive and also brought lots of special equipment. We learnt lots about the bees habitat. Mr MacKinnon told us that this was a man-made habitat but bees also have their own natural habitats too. One of the most interesting things was studying the small hexagon shaped spaces that the larvae are born in and the honey is made in. Mr MacKinnon explained what all the equipment is for e.g. for keeping the bees calm, gently brushing bees away and protecting yourself against stings. We even all tried some delicious honey! What a super afternoon!
