Red Class have started the week with eggs in an incubator and as the week goes on the eggs have hatched into chicks. The children have been lucky enough to see this happening first hand as well as on the video recording from the set up camera. The children are so excited about having chicks, keen to explain and talk about them to each other, parents and staff and will be looking after and learning about chicks over the next two weeks. As well as the direct learning (for example science life cycles as well as caring values) from such an experience, we know that the excitement caused by this will lead to children using their phonics skills to write brilliant posters, sentences and diaries about the chicks.
