Coding in Year 6

Violet Class have been learning coding – programming instructions written for computers, websites and apps and now part of the Computing National Curriculum – on a software new to school called Discovery Education Coding. This software allows children to write computer instructions so that actions happen on the screen. In this way, the children have been learning how to create simple games. To do this effectively, the children are using resilience (one of school values) in planning and reviewing their work as they go and these are important transferable skills of children growing up in the 21st Century.
