Confucius Institute

Thank you to the four volunteers from the Confucius Institute who joined us to help us learn more about Chinese New Year. As well as giving us more background in Chinese festivals and geography, the children across Key Stage 2 learnt about the legends associated with the zodiac. In small groups they had the opportunity to listen to and ask questions of a native Mandarin speaker and the visitors were impressed with how much our children know and enjoy their Mandarin. The children also designed and created drums for a parade which would drive any evil spirits out of the school!
