Contour lines
Children in Year 5 have been looking at contour lines in geography on maps of our local area. This practical hands on exercise has effectively taught the children about what the lines represent and how the lines close together indicate steepness in the real world. In the Summer, they intend to climb Farleton Knott from where they will be able to see places they have visited, including the County Showground and the Lake District, as well as our home city of Lancaster and Morecambe Bay beyond it.
