Flowers for Bees
As part of our eco approaches at Willow Lane, the School Council are involved in a number of initiatives including introducing classroom recycling again following changes due to the pandemic, planting an oak tree for nature and sourcing wildflower seeds for native pollinators. The council have surveyed their classes and found that many of our children want to plant more flowers. We sourced seed through a honey company who give seeds with every jar sold and then had our own bespoke packs created. These were distributed to all children and staff on World Bee Day and we look forward to seeing the flowers in our local community as well as the insects enjoying them.
