Fruit and Veg Sculptures
This half term, Blue Class are working with different mediums and using different skills and techniques to create fruit art sculptures. We had a visiting artist, Keith Parkinson, teach us how to plaster cast carrots using clay. Keith was organised through our work with the TIME Project (http://www.hmdt.org.uk/hmdtmusic/blog/2016/06/16/time-testing-impact-and-measuring-effect/) and we are thankful for the opportunities this has allowed for our children. It got quite messy but we had lots of fun. Miss Chisnall taught us how to sculpt and mould clay using tools to make an apple. We then used our colour mixing skills and blending techniques to paint the apples and carrots using only four colours; yellow, green, red and black. We still have lots of work to do to finish our sculptures but it is going well so far!
