Guided Reading

After lunch, every child in the school takes part in Guided Reading. These sessions allow small groups to work with an adult – both the teacher and another adult weekly – and discuss a text in detail. Sometimes these are books and sometimes these are comprehension type  activities on poems and other text types. The rest of the class have some time to quietly read and children enjoy this time to get in to a good story or the children’s newspaper we get delivered.
