Guided Reading


After lunch, every child in the school takes part in Guided Reading. These sessions allow small groups to work with an adult – both the teacher and another adult weekly – and discuss a text in detail. Sometimes these are books and sometimes these are comprehension type ¬†activities on poems and other text types. The rest of the class have some time to quietly read and children enjoy this time to get in to a good story or the children’s newspaper we get delivered.
