Harvest Time

It’s harvest time at Willow Lane school and our allotments and orchards have done really well this year. Not only have we had a bounty of soft and hard fruit which the children have enjoyed at snack times and in school puddings but we have an array of vegetables which are heading to the school kitchen too. We believe it is more and more important for children to understand where food comes from and to be involved in growing, harvesting and cooking from an early age. This lays the foundations for children choosing a healthy and varied diet as they grow up.
