Healthy Eating
In assembly we talked about the importance of eating 5 to 7 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. We focused on fruit and the different ways they could be eaten including raw, cooked, crumbled, dried and smoothied and then sang a rhyme about banana being turned in to a smoothie drink! At school we promote healthy eating through fruit for younger children, assemblies, using our home grown fruit and veg in the kitchen, salad bar at lunch, packed lunch advice and ensuring all children growing/harvesting (in our allotment) and all children cooking over the year.
