Ingleborough Caves

Green Class enjoyed a wonderful Spring day in Yorkshire. Having traveled there by coach, they were met by their knowledgeable guide John. He took the class on a nature trail and was impressed by the classes understanding of different rocks. In the caves he taught the children the difference between stalactites from above as they hold on ‘tight’) and stalagmites (they ‘might’ grow to the ceiling). The children enjoyed looking at different rock formations such as The Elephant, The Sword of Damacles and The Mushroom. Afterwards, the class enjoyed a picnic by the beck in glorious Spring sunshine and then a walk through the woods.
