Ingleborough Caves

Green Class had a brilliant day out exploring these amazing caves, situated just over the border in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. They impressed their guide with words such as ‘paleontologist’ and learnt new words such as ‘stalactite’ and ‘stalagmite’. The children went as part of their topic – Rock and Roll – which mixes Science (of stones and their features) with Geography (volcanoes and how are made) and History (the Stone Age). The children really enjoyed both the walk past hills and lakes to the caves and their trip underground!
