Kier Defibrilator
Kier, the building company currently working at Lancaster University, have kindly donated an AED (Automated External Defibrilator) to the school as part of their community outreach work. Kier have worked with the school and the PTFA to find out what we need in our community. The Defibrilator will be stored in school and accessible for the school as well as the local community with a number of school staff trained in its use. These handy devices have been proven to significantly increase the survival chances of someone suffering a cardiac arrest. Last year, Kier established a link with the school and delivered an assembly on staying safe near building sites which, with all the new building in the area, is very appropriate. Later this school year, they will be running practical workshops linked to engineering and construction to develop problem solving skills as well as aspirations for this important industry.
