Lego in English

Yellow Class have been enjoying the brilliant books by author Simon Bartram (http://www.simonbartram.com/) including’Man on the Moon’. This links to their Explorers topic in which they learn about significant historical figures including Christopher Columbus and Neil Armstrong. They are developing their own stories in English that are based on lunar travels and today they have been using lego to create lunar vehicles and settings which will feature in their story. Through this creative teaching technique, the children decide on their story, discuss it with peers and add layers of detail before putting pencil to paper.
