Longest Reigning Monarch

Today we celebrated Queen Elizabeth II becoming our longest reigning monarch. Today she overtook Queen Victoria’s record of 23,226 days and she has seen a lot in that time including 12 priministers, mankind walking on the moon and the birth of the internet.

In a special assembly we solved clues to find out who we were celebrating, watched a video of her coronation, answered a quiz (did you know she has had 30 pet corgis in her reign) and stood for the National Anthem. Every child in school received a commemorative medal which the school bought as a gift to mark this historic occasion!
