We now have 11 newly qualified three hour mini medics. For this after school club, the children learned basic first aid skills, from CPR and Primary Survey (DRsABC) to what to do if someone is bleeding and the importance of phoning the emergency services and getting help as soon as possible.
We even had a visit from Lancaster Area Search and Rescue (LASAR), who showed us what they do and some of the equipment they use to help save lives. If this looks like something your child would be interested in, this club will be running again next half term on Wednesday nights for children in KS2. Keep an eye out for the sign up letters coming home soon.
