Number Spiders

Problem solving on spiders’ legs anyone? Year 2 have been finding different combinations of coins to make target amounts. This creative way of learning reinforces their coin recognition, their counting in 50s, 20s, 10s, 5s, 2s and 1s and encourages problems solving skills such as systematic approaches. All the children were very engaged with the challenge and all children could find a number of different ways to reach their target amount.
