Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) are highly valued and respected at Willow Lane and are supported by dedicated, skilled and motivated teachers and support staff. Kirsty Riley leads our inclusion team and is supported by two specialist Teaching Assistants – Lee Cooper and Rachel Wiez. The whole school works hard to ensure that child’s individual barriers to learning are identified, addressed and monitored so that every child makes progress both academically and emotionally.
The documents below outline our Local Offer – the information about what we as a school are able to provide – and the Provision Map gives an insight in to what this might look like in different year groups. You can find out what Lancashire’s Local Offer looks like by visiting www.lancashire.gov.uk/SEND. Furthermore, a new Lancashire SEND Partnership site has been created ( https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/children-education-families/special-educational-needs-and-disabilities/shaping-send-together/lancashire-send-partnership/ ) where you can find news, updates and the strategy for supporting children with SEND across the county.
There is currently a process to re-develop the Local Offer and the following is a message from Lancashire:
Parents, carers and young people – have your say on the re-development of the Local Offer by clicking this link.
Your views will help shape the new design and all feedback to our project team is confidential. No personal data will be disclosed and we’ll share the feedback with you in early 2019. We’re also working with young people in Lancashire to create a new design.
