Children in Years 5 and 6 have had workshops about puberty as part of our new Health and Relationships Education. These sessions, separate for boys and girls, were well led by experienced staff from Coram Life Education (the same team who bring the Life Education Bus with Harold the Giraffe). The sessions covered the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty with all children learning about changes to both genders. Not only does this help them become more comfortable and confident about changes and challenges with their own body but it also helps children develop empathy for their peers too. Throughout the sessions, the staff were impressed by our children’s sensible behaviour and the questions they asked.
