Remembrance
As a school, we always mark Remembrance Day in an age appropriate manner. In school this means discussing the past, understanding the symbol of the poppy, looking at the support undertaken by The Royal British Legion and taking part in the national two minutes silence. In the past, we have planted an area of poppy seeds and created works of art linked to the theme of remembrance. This year, we have looked at who we are remembering and children have had an insight in to those who we remember through looking at photos from the past. It’s important for children to not only take part in charitable activities but also to understand in detail the why and what happens with the funds raised.
