RSPB Leighton Moss
Blue Class had a fabulous day exploring a jewel of a local nature reserve RSPB Leighton Moss. They were brilliantly taught by the RSPB staff and the children learnt a lot about animals – in particular invertebrates – in pond and orchard habitats. Having worked well as groups to find animals, the children identified them using great observation skills and useful identification charts. The children also had an opportunity to use binoculars and see over the entire reserve from atop the Sky Tower. This trip was funded by the Areti Charitable Trust (https://thearetitrust.com/) , a local initiative to support children in experiencing our natural world, so thank you to them and to the RSPB for a great day.
