RSPB Leighton Moss
After an early start to catch a train that never arrived, our patient but excited Year 6 arrived at Leighton Moss! We spent the morning looking at the pond habitat and enjoyed pond dipping to look for invertebrates. To escape the sun, we continued our learning about water creatures in the shade; we danced like backswimmers, moved as leeches and shared our fascinating facts. Lots of birds were spotted in the herb garden during lunch before an afternoon of orienteering. Navigating around the nature reserve, we hunted for bitterns, tested the wetness of the willow scrub, sorted life-cycles and much more. What an excellent day we had at Leighton Moss!
