Safer Internet Day

Tuesday 6th February was Safer Internet Day and in school we marked this occasion with an assembly about ‘Digiduck’s Big Decision’. In this accessible story, a duck receives a photo of his friend which he decides to share only to then see into the future and realise the consequences this might bring. The children were excellent at understanding the importance of publishing positive things online and knew what to do should they see unkind or inappropriate material. We also sent out fliers to every household about how to use different social media platforms safely and appropriately. The information in these (which can be found under our Latest Letters section too) will help adults model good practice as well as give them support for talking to children about how to act safely online.
