St Anne’s Camel Rally

This week the whole school has been using the painting ‘St Anne’s Camel Rally’ (by Lancashire artist Sarah Dunn) for inspiration. Children started the week exploring the painting and imagining their own stories behind it. Each class created some artwork in different medium and pieces of writing and a selection of these were shared in Friday’s assembly. It was great to see the different media including collage, technical perspective drawings, camel shaving artwork and sculpture. The children also shared writing triggered by the painting and these included diaries from camels perspectives, the train driver’s version of events, nonsense poetry linked to nouns, verbs and adverbs and balanced arguments about camel racing.
