Teddy Bear Picnic

As part of our Book Week, children brought in teddy bears from home to read to. We normally hold a community Reading Breakfast but our staff adapted the plan brilliantly and then adapted it again to bring the picnic indoors as the rain clouds opened! The children read to their teddy bears whilst enjoying juice and croissant and some children even read to a visiting dog called Apple! We know that embedding a love of learning whilst children are young leads to better vocabulary, better imagination and better outcomes and it’s also been interesting to read about the well-being benefits of reading which have become more and more evident over the lockdowns.
