The Commonwealth Games Assembly

The Commonwealth Games assembly was really brilliant because we got to hold some flags, we held an Australia flag because we are supporting Australia in our class. We all stood up when our music came on, the Australian national anthem, Advance Australia Fair.

Red Class were supporting Jamaica and had face paints and cool music playing and drums.

Orange class were supporting India and wearing beautiful saris. Violet Class had a brilliant Canada flag made using Hockey sticks.

There was a gymnastics display and the Gymnastics team performed crabs and handstands- it was fantastic. They did the splits and everyone gasped!
We watched a presentation about famous sporting people and read some quotes on how to be a great team player.

Then a march around the field waving our flags and cheering our teams on.

Let the Willow Lane Commonwealth Games begin!
