Trench Brothers

Year 5 and 6 performed brilliantly alongside professional actors, puppeteers and singers to an audience of children, parents and friends. The children have been studying WWI and through the medium of the performance have explored many challenging topics such as the role of the colonial troops, the notion of cowardice and the loss of so much life. Leading up to the show, the children have helped write songs, held debates, built puppets, read brilliant books such as Private Peaceful, studied the lives of individual soldiers and handled artefacts from WWI. Their performance ended with an emotional scene as each child laid their puppet on a painting of some poppies. Thank you to HMDT Music (http://www.hmdt.org.uk/) for all their help and for working with Willow Lane.
