Trench Brothers
Year 5 & 6 had an exciting opportunity to deepen their knowledge of World War 1 for their Trench Brothers topic. The children were able to investigate, handle and try on authentic WWI artefacts. There was also an exciting opportunity to meet, be trained by and questions an Indian soldier from World War 1. Later this term, the children will be writing letters home as a soldier they have been researching and this was an excellent way of helping them understand what life was like for soldiers. In preparation for their letter, they all thought about who they would write home to if they were soldiers, how they feel and what they could see or hear in their first days in the army. The whole morning was very insightful and a great experience that will really enrich their learning.
