United Utilities
Year 4 enjoyed an insightful, engaging and fact filled session with staff from United Utilities. This creative approach to learning fit with their geography and science based topic on water. It looked at the water cycle, water usage and, importantly in our ever changing world, the need to preserve water. The children were particularly engaged with how they could make changes to their lives (showers not baths, tap off when brushing teeth etc) and the school councilors came to their meeting armed with suggestions on water butts for the allotments and devices to save water when flushing our toilets. It’s great to see actions come out of the children’s learning.
