Violet Class enjoyed a day learning about the Vikings n with a visiting very knowledgeable historian who was able to answer inquisitive questions on all things Viking. The children learnt about Viking leisure time as well as warfare, including playing Viking games (similar to chess) and learning about what life was like during this period in history. Afterwards, the children created their own versions of Viking chess and considered the important historical concept of  how words, place names, activities and pastimes introduced by the Vikings can still be seen in our society today.
