Wormery

We had lots of engaged learners in Yellow Class making a wormery from recycled materials. We used a 2 litre plastic bottle, sharp sand, compost and lots of water. We all had a turn helping to make it. We had to put the sand and compost in alternating layers and spray each one with water so it was moist. Then we added worms we had collected from the allotments! Some of us went out with Mr Brunskill to collect dead leaves and flowers so the worms had something to eat as all living things need food. We are observing the worms every day to see what happens in our wormery and will keep a record. At the end of the week, we will put them back where they came from so they are in their natural habitat.
