WWI Letter Writing

Years 5 and 6 have been very engaged with their topic ‘Trench Brother’s. This history based topic follows the experiences of Commonwealth soldiers in WWI and the particular events around one individual – Herbert Morris – from Jamaica. The children have been getting in to role and trying to imagine what his experiences must have been liked and this has also been helped by listening to Michael Morpurgo’s book ‘Private Peaceful’. Here they are writing descriptive and emotional letters home.
