SEND

Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) are highly valued and respected at Willow Lane and are supported by dedicated, skilled and motivated teachers and support staff. Kirsty Birdsall (SENCO) leads our inclusion team and is supported by a specialist Teaching Assistants – Lee Cooper.  The whole school works hard to ensure that child’s individual barriers to learning are identified, addressed and monitored so that every child makes progress both academically and emotionally. If you have any concerns about your child’s needs, please feel free to discuss them with your child’s teacher or the SENCO (Kirsty Birdsall) who can be reached through the school number 0152465880.

The documents below outline our Local Offer – the information about what we as a school are able to provide – and the Provision Map gives an insight in to what this might look like in different year groups. You can find out what Lancashire’s Local Offer looks like by visiting www.lancashire.gov.uk/SEND. Furthermore, a new Lancashire SEND Partnership site has been created ( https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/children-education-families/special-educational-needs-and-disabilities/shaping-send-together/lancashire-send-partnership/  ) where you can find news, updates and the strategy for supporting children with SEND across the county.
