Tips for Staying Safe

Are you feeling worried, scared or have yucky feelings?

Talk to a grown-up you trust at home or school. Any adult in school will always listen to any problems or worries you have.

Do you want to talk to someone now?

You can always call Childline (click here). You can talk to them about anything- no problem is too big or too small. They have grown-ups you can trust, who will listen and help.

Ring 0800 1111.

Calls are free from all phones (even if you don’t have any credit) and they won’t show up on any bills. You can call them day or night every day of the week.

What if I’m too nervous to call?

You can also send them a message through their website (click here) or by email.

Childline knows that many children feel that talking on the phone is scary or they worry they might be overheard. Talking on the phone can help in lots of ways and the more you do it the easier it is.

If you’re still not sure, you can try calling and not saying anything. You can also ask as many questions as you want. You can find a quiet place to talk and take all the time you need.
