Remote Education/Home Learning is the learning which children are completing when not in school either due to self-isolating (eg following a bubble closure or being a close contact in the community) or during local or national lockdown restrictions. Learning at home not only supports long term academic progress but can also provide a structure to the day and important well-being links to teachers and peers.
Our approach to Home Learning is a mixture of online resources (delivered through a software called Seesaw in which teachers share videos, teaching and expectations) as well as physical resources (workbooks consolidating and teaching the new skills and knowledge needed for children at different stages of their school career). The school has provided all our children with packs, logins and differentiated learning for those who require it.
As a school we recognise the challenges that Home Learning can bring including juggling the demands of working from home, providing education whilst working, meeting the needs of all children, supporting with content one may not be familiar with and the need for digital access. We are working with our families to support them in a myriad of ways as we all want children to learn whilst remaining happy during these challenging times.
